Manager, Corporate Accounting

Amplitude Amplitude · Data AI · San Francisco, CA · CFO : Accounting

This role is for an Accounting Manager at Amplitude, an AI analytics platform company. The manager will oversee the full close cycle, strengthen accounting policies, partner cross-functionally, lead audit readiness, and identify opportunities to automate workflows, including embedding AI into accounting processes. The role requires a player-coach who can balance hands-on execution with process improvement and modernization.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own and run the full close cycle across the general ledger—including journal entries, consolidations, intercompany, reconciliations, and flux analysis—while continuously improving the speed, accuracy, and predictability of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting
  2. Strengthen and scale accounting policies, processes, and internal controls to support a public company environment, ensuring compliance while building a foundation that can keep up with company growth
  3. Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, Tax, Legal, and AP to drive a seamless close process, proactively resolve issues, and ensure financial data aligns with broader business objectives
  4. Lead audit readiness and execution end-to-end, managing external auditors, owning the PBC process, and ensuring deliverables are organized, timely, and audit-ready (not the night-before scramble kind)
  5. Identify and implement opportunities to automate and accelerate accounting workflows—including embedding AI into routine processes—to improve efficiency, reduce manual work, and increase overall data reliability
