What you'd actually do

  1. Oversees and manages manufacturing processes, for highly energetic, static sensitive, corrosive, and chemical processes.
  2. Provides leadership and develop of all safety risks of the process and design the processes such that safety risks are mitigated or eliminated.
  3. Manages engineers works closely with the Hazards Analysis and Cross Functional Engineering group in designing and setting up the processes.
  4. Manages and presents status on cost, schedule, and performance for all projects within the area; assesses issues and develops mitigation plans to meet productivity, quality, cost, and delivery goals.
  5. Manager, Process Controls Engineering Department consisting of Control Systems Engineers and Technicians, responsible for the integration of processes with control systems for operation areas at our Promontory, Utah campuses.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline
  • 8 years of engineering experience with a BS, and 6 years of experience with a Master's
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance
  • Experience leading or managing technical teams
  • Ability to solve complex technical challenges
  • Strong financial acumen, including experience with capital planning, budgeting, or cost management
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective cross-functional partnerships

Nice to have

  • Experience in a formal engineering management or senior leadership role
  • Background in facilities engineering, infrastructure design, or industrial systems
  • Experience supporting large-scale capital projects
  • Knowledge of construction management, estimating, and project execution practices
  • Familiarity with Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) methodologies
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Experience working with propellants, energetics, or explosive environments
