Northrop Grumman is seeking a Manager 3 – Analysis to lead a group of approximately 40 engineers and 4 managers within the Propulsion Systems & Controls Business Unit. The role involves ensuring technical rigor in analyses, personnel development, and process/tool improvements. Disciplines include CFD, heat transfer, structural, dynamics, and performance analysis. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 14 years of experience (or 12 with a Master's), a Secret Clearance, and 5+ years of leadership experience.

What you'd actually do

  1. Managing execution of all analysis activities, with focus on technical excellence while meeting schedule and cost objectives.
  2. Development of a strategic plan to improve analysis capabilities, processes and tools.
  3. Ensuring that we are appropriately staffed with the right talent and skill levels across the technical staff to support the programs and department budgets.
  4. Mentoring and motivating to ensure a high performing team. This includes use of development plans, stretch assignments, 1:1 meetings and feedback, training, recognition, promotion/equity and other methods to develop and reward our engineering talent.
  5. Setting and promoting high standards for quality and safety through peer reviews, process control, and performance feedback. Ensure compliance with all command media processes and standards in our technical solutions.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 14 years of experience or 12 years of experience with a Master's degree in Engineering
  • Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
  • Strong technical background in analysis methodology and practice
  • Self-starter
  • Skills necessary to lead and motivate others
  • 5+ years of project team or people leadership experience
  • Excellent oral, presentation, and written communication skills
