Manager for a Drill Autonomy and Technology engineering team, responsible for leading staff, developing solutions for operator assistance, remote control, and autonomy for surface rotary drills, and collaborating with various software and systems groups within Caterpillar.

What you'd actually do

  1. Managing the engineering staff and activities with an emphasis on organizational goals achievement, professional development and continuous improvement.
  2. Empower and enable engineers to achieve enterprise objectives while also fostering and developing them to be successful toward their individual career aspirations.
  3. Monitoring and continuously improving product and process performance, quality and cost-effectiveness for all engineering activities and deliverables.
  4. Providing leadership to create and maintain processes used to design and develop software, systems and new technologies.
  5. Outline the strategy/roadmap to achieve these goals and lead its execution to completion by driving alignment across teams.

  • Previous experience with Product Development Lifecycle projects; understanding constraints and how to meet strategic goals through leadership and execution.
  • Leadership experience of teams in the Autonomous or Robotics industry including technical domain knowledge and awareness of customer challenges in this industry.
  • Knowledge of Construction/Mining industry.
