What you'd actually do

  1. Serve as designated representative of assigned fulfillment center (FC), coordinating and implementing all areas of the Safety, Loss Prevention, Food Safety, and Environmental Compliance Program.
  2. Influence behavior and encourage dedication on the part of all personnel in aligning with Chewy.com safety standards and maintaining a safe work environment.
  3. Conduct training and mentor associates on observed work habits in support of this effort.
  4. Support management’s efforts to ensure compliance with corporate expectations and applicable laws. Conduct theft investigations as needed and guided by the Director of Safety and Loss Prevention.
  5. Identify and recommend management of compliance issues, safety risks and improvement opportunities as they relate to Safety, Loss Prevention, Environmental Compliance and Food Safety through the conduct of daily, weekly, and monthly audits.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in a safety related field.
  • Two to Four years’ confirmed experience handling the responsibilities outlined above.
  • Experience leading and growing a group or team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Experienced in emergency response and be capable of sustaining current First aid, CPR certificates, and knowledge of OSHA regulations.
  • Strong communication, partnership, analysis, judgment, and customer engagement skills.
  • Ability to analyze accident data, new processes, and machinery for potential safety concerns, and conduct job hazard and job safety analysis.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality in matters involving personnel issues.

Nice to have

  • Experience in Worker’s Compensation case management preferred.
  • Validated safety record with shown improvements.
