Manager for General Manufacturing in the Paint & Coatings IPT organization at Northrop Grumman, responsible for leading operations related to aerospace paint, masking, and surface preparation for restricted programs, focusing on quality, cost, and schedule objectives.

What you'd actually do

  1. Responsible for daily assignments and providing guidance for operations related to aerospace paint, masking, and surface preparation requirements. This includes but not limited to performance-based gap filler, aero-fairing, scrim/applique, fastener filler, thin film, coatings, primer, and topcoat materials.
  2. Must be able to provide clear and concise direction and coaching to technicians and other production personnel in the assembly and manufacturing areas to remove constraints as required.
  3. Ensures team members receive the required training and prepares the daily work plans in support of overall program objectives.
  4. Encourages and provides direction for career development of employees, including educational options for highly motivated employees.
  5. Provides leadership/direction to ensure all affordability initiatives and opportunities for process improvements are systematically identified, pursued, and supported.

Skills

Required

  • High school diploma/GED
  • 5 years of related professional/military experience in aerospace, automotive, military, manufacturing, maintenance and/or related environment
  • 1 year of prior management and or lead experience
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance
  • Willing to work any of the following schedules: Monday – Thursday 4/10 Shift - 1st shift (5:00 am - 3:30 pm) or 2nd shift (3:00 pm - 1:30 am) OR Friday – Sunday 3/10 Shift - 1st shift (5:00 am - 3:30 pm) or 2nd shift (3:00 pm - 1:30 am)
  • Willing to work extended shifts, holidays, and weekends if needed to support program schedule milestones.
  • Willing to travel

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 3 Years experience in Aerospace Coatings applications.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
  • Experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
