Manager I, Engineering for Datadog's Subscriptions team, which is part of the core monetization platform. This role involves leading a full-stack engineering team to build and operate high-throughput, high-availability services that process revenue-critical pipelines for cloud marketplaces, partners, and in-app purchasing. The position focuses on evolving systems to support new pricing models, purchasing flows, and regional requirements, with ownership across customer-facing features and backend services.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead and support a full-stack engineering team building and operating Datadog’s subscriptions platform
  2. Oversee development of high-throughput, high-availability services handling up to 80k requests per second
  3. Guide the design and evolution of monetization systems supporting cloud marketplaces, partners, and in-app purchasing
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Billing, Revenue Engineering, and Product to deliver revenue-critical features
  5. Drive improvements to purchasing flows, pricing models, and entitlement systems to support new products and markets

Skills

Required

  • Experience managing or leading engineering teams in a full-stack or platform environment
  • Strong background in building and scaling distributed systems or high-traffic services
  • Familiarity with monetization platforms, billing systems, or e-commerce infrastructure
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with technical and non-technical stakeholders
