Role Definition Maintains agreed-upon inventory levels to provide a flow of raw materials and components from the supply chain to the manufacturing facility.
Responsibilities • Ensuring that the environment of the inventory stock room is in line with requirements for each product. • Managing staffing, development, and performance management of materials management workers. Ensuring proper labor relations. • Defining and maintaining optimal inventory levels. Performing inventory analysis and making recommendations for stock levels. • Coordinating maintenance and support of inventory management software.

Inventory Management - MFG: Knowledge of processes and methods of inventory management; ability to effectively manage local or distributed inventories of raw materials, work-in-progress and finished goods. Level Working Knowledge: • Follows processes to take stock, release inventory or return into processing; resolves discrepancies. • Tracks inventory information for a specific product group or location. • Works with basic tasks of inventory management for a specific location. • Produces basic inventory management reports for senior staff to reconcile the inventory balances. • Performs the receiving, ticketing, checking in and distributing of inventory items for a specific location.
Logistics Management: Knowledge of logistics and management; ability to follow proper processes and run operations for effective and efficient movement of materials and finished products. Level Working Knowledge: • Assists in the development of process flows to track lead time by activity. • Uses tools, with guidance, to forecast delivery times, determine costs and assess performance. • Maintains records of all shipments and invoices using an established system. • Participates in integrating logistics processes and developing effective networks. • Works with logistics in a domestic environment.
Performance Management: Knowledge of successful performance management techniques; ability to apply organization's performance management system, practices, and tools to developing and improving individual, team, and organizational performance. Level Working Knowledge: • Identifies opportunities to enhance performance, e.g., practice assignments, training, shadowing. • Ensures performance goals, checkpoints, and feedback focus on behaviors. • Provides documented input to formal performance review conducted by manager. • Observes individual performance and provides fair and objective feedback. • Uses formal and informal rewards and recognition programs for employees.
Planning and Organizing: Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way. Level Basic Understanding: • Seeks help to modify priorities as new information surfaces or conditions change. • Demonstrates the ability to estimate the time and resources required to complete tasks. • Identifies own key assignments, schedules, and process steps. • Applies the concept of 'critical path' in order to complete work in a timely manner and keep larger tasks on track.

Level Working Knowledge: • Identifies and documents specific problems and resolution alternatives. • Examines a specific problem and understands the perspective of each involved stakeholder. • Develops alternative techniques for assessing accuracy and relevance of information. • Helps to analyze risks and benefits of alternative approaches and obtain decision on resolution. • Uses fact-finding techniques and diagnostic tools to identify problems.
Supply Chain Management - MFG: Knowledge of functions, principles and techniques used in supply chain management; ability to develop and use, strategies, practices and tools for controlling the logistical processes. Level Working Knowledge: • Discusses considerations for integrating partner and supplier transactions. • Recognizes software systems or components used to manage supply chain. • Summarizes supply chain considerations for different types of products or components. • Participates in supply chain analysis and uses it to spot trends and improvement opportunities. • Works with a specific part of supply chain management process.
