Manager Mission Assurance 2 at Northrop Grumman, supporting the AMC Restricted Operating Unit. The role involves managing a team of Quality/Mission Assurance engineers, establishing objectives, providing direction, and ensuring strategic alignment. Responsibilities include acting as an advisor, providing leadership for program reviews, collaborating with internal/external customers and stakeholders, supporting FRBs/MRBs, assuring adherence to requirements and regulations, overseeing root cause analysis and corrective actions, leading continuous improvement initiatives, performing metric analysis, supporting supplier mission assurance, developing staffing strategies, and managing budgets and team talent development. Requires a Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience (or Master's with 6+ years), an active U.S. Secret Security clearance, and 2+ years of leadership experience. Experience in Quality Engineering, Quality Assurance, and component Quality is needed. The role is 100% onsite in Linthicum, MD.

What you'd actually do

  1. Manage a group of high performing Quality/Mission Assurance engineers establishing objectives, providing direction, and ensuring strategic alignment to support the AMC-R Operating Unit goals and objectives.
  2. Act as an advisor to staff members to meet schedules and resolve technical or operational problems.
  3. Provide leadership and oversight to critical program reviews including technical reviews, test readiness reviews, certifications and sell offs.
  4. Team and collaborate closely with internal & external customers and stakeholders, including, but not limited to, Mission Assurance Director, MA team members, Supplier Mission Assurance, Operating Units (OUs), Systems Engineering, DCMA and customer counterparts to enable program mission success.
  5. Support FRBs and MRBs ensuring identification of root cause and proper implementation of corrective actions including reach back and reach across.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Science with 8+ years of relevant professional experience in Manufacturing and Quality Assurance processes or Master's degree with 6+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Active U.S. Secret Security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP)
  • Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience (Integrated Product Teams leadership or direct-line management)
  • Quality Engineering, Quality Assurance, and component Quality experience
  • U.S. Citizenship Required
