Manager of Project Management

Manager of Project Management to lead and develop a growing team of Project Managers supporting various departments and organizations. The role focuses on building and enabling a high-performing project management team, establishing standards, developing talent, driving consistency, and ensuring Project Managers have the necessary support for complex initiatives.

What you'd actually do

  1. Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Project Managers. Provide coaching, performance feedback, career development guidance, and growth opportunities to build a high-performing organization.
  2. Project Management Excellence: Establish and maintain project management standards, methodologies, tools, and best practices to ensure consistency, transparency, and effective execution across programs.
  3. Resource Planning & Allocation: Assess team capacity, allocate Project Managers to initiatives based on business priorities and skillsets, and ensure resources are aligned to organizational objectives.
  4. Organizational Scaling: Design and improve processes, governance structures, reporting mechanisms, and operational rhythms that support sustainable growth and increased program complexity.
  5. Portfolio Oversight: Maintain visibility across multiple programs and projects, proactively identifying cross-functional dependencies, risks, and opportunities that may impact overall delivery.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Project Management, Operations Management, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience leading, managing, and developing project management professionals
  • Demonstrated success building and scaling project management organizations, processes, and governance structures
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies, portfolio management practices, and resource planning
  • Experience managing complex cross-functional programs
  • Exceptional leadership, coaching, and interpersonal skills with a passion for developing people and teams
  • Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence across all levels of the organization
  • Proven ability to identify organizational risks, drive alignment, and make prioritization decisions in fast-paced environments
  • Experience with project management and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Asana, or similar platforms
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with operational execution and organizational development

Nice to have

  • PMP, PgMP, PMI-ACP, or similar certification is a plus
