As a Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking's Trust and Security Technology team , you lead engineering team and manage day-to-day implementation activities by identifying and escalating issues and ensuring your team’s work adheres to compliance standards, business requirements, and tactical best practices.
Job responsibilities
- Provides guidance to immediate team of software engineers on daily tasks and activities
- Sets the overall guidance and expectations for team output, practices, and collaboration
- Anticipates dependencies with other teams to deliver products and applications in line with business requirements
- Manages stakeholder relationships and the team’s work in accordance with compliance standards, service level agreements, and business requirements
- Creates a culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect for the team members and prioritizes diverse representation
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on Software Engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience. In addition, 2 + years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise
- Experience leading technology projects
- Proficiency developing Data intensive applications or ETL pipelines using AWS , Java and spark
- Experience with Apache Spark, Spark's core concepts, including RDDs, Data Frames, and Spark SQL is required.
- Experience managing technologists
- Proficient in automation and continuous delivery methods
- Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle - OOP principles and design patterns.
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
- In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
- Experience with AWS cloud services (EC2,S3, Lambda) and deploying and managing applications in a cloud environment.
- Experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and expertise in technology disciplines
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience working at code level - ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code in Java
- Spring Ecosystem, including Spring Boot, Spring MVC and Spring Data.
