What you'll be doing:
- Provide direction and guidance to your local team covering AV operations (contractor roles include drivers, test operators, coordinators) and run our regional operations with excellence and efficiency
- Drive priorities to ensure our development and test fleet achieves schedule/scope/budget targets, proactively elevate risks and obstacles
- Work with matrixed team of partners from hardware, software, operations, customers and other teams to identify gaps, resolve issues and provide RCCA
- Proactively define and provide critical metrics and initiate improvements for efficiencies and report test execution and efficiency
- Ensure compliant, flexible and efficient AV operations establishing and tuning matching trainings and processes to keep your assigned location fully compliant
What we need to see:
- BS degree or greater in an engineering or SW field (or equivalent experience)
- The role requires 5+ overall years of working experience of which 2+ years of experience leading a team
- Hands-on experience with automotive and/or software product development and operations, ideally in an AV domain or an equivalent field like aviation
- Strong project/program/product management fundamentals
- Culture of continuous learning, ongoing process improvement, and a first-principles approach to problem-solving
- Experience in influencing decisions and leading teams in a multi-functional environment, comfortable with ambiguity
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities
Ways to stand out from the crowd:
- Successfully delivering products from concept through launch
- Deep understanding of product development processes, including fundamentals of automotive electronics, sensors and software
- On the ground experience scaling vehicle operations
- Extensive experience with critical metrics and data analytics as well as reporting dashboards and workflow management systems (e.g. Tableau, JIRA)
- Master’s degree in engineering or business field, or equivalent experience, a plus
