Manager, Platform Engineer - Enterprise Product & Experience

This role is for a Platform Engineer focused on managing and supporting third-party integrations with Capital One's APIs, File Transfers, Gateways, and integration services. The primary goal is to facilitate enterprise and partnerships by ensuring data connections are easy to use, secure, and well-managed, reducing integration friction and cycle times. The role involves acting as a technical interface, supporting the integration lifecycle, leading strategic projects, and evolving team operations. It requires strong technical skills in system integration, client-facing experience, and the ability to bridge communication between technical teams and external users.

What you'd actually do

  1. Act as the primary technical interface to lead consultation and support on complex integrations leveraging Capital One APIs, File Transfers, Gateways, and integration services
  2. Actively support the full integration lifecycle to improve the partner experience based on user feedback
  3. Reduce integration friction and cycle times while safeguarding high-risk data flows in production environments.
  4. Lead strategic projects advancing strategic mandates to expand services internationally and to new assets
  5. Evolve and enhance our team operations

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or military experience.
  • At least 4 years of work experience in client-facing professional services
  • At least 4 years of experience in system integration technologies, standards & tools. For Example (RESTful APIs, Authentication methods, JSON, Postman, File Transfer protocols and Filezilla)
  • Be able to handle ambiguity, dive deep and conduct detailed analysis to identify root causes and partner with internal and external teams to find resolution
  • Perform with minimal direction and be comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Bridge the gap between technical teams by converting intricate partner error logs into clear solutions for internal teams, while simplifying internal Capital One standards into clear, manageable tasks for our external users
  • Interact effectively with senior leaders as well as engineers
  • Maintain excellent presentation skills, written and verbal communications
  • Participates in on-call duties, based on a rotational schedule, to manage incident related support by coordinating with internal partners to unblock issues

Nice to have

  • Master’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or Engineering.
  • Experience working with standard web technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, and mobile development is preferred
  • Knowledge of financial and payments industries, and emerging technology trends.
