Manager, Procurement - Energy

Walmart Walmart · Retail · Bentonville, AR

Manager for Energy Procurement at Walmart, responsible for end-to-end sourcing strategy for on-site and off-site energy programs, including renewables, EPC, and O&M components. The role involves market intelligence, risk mitigation, and cross-functional stakeholder alignment to achieve cost efficiency and decarbonization goals.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop and execute a structured energy procurement roadmap encompassing large, multi‑year capital and operating spend, including competitive EPC RFx programs spanning dozens of projects across the portfolio.
  2. Disaggregate On‑Site developer models to establish scalable sourcing architectures for OEM, EPC, and O&M components—unlocking sourcing optionality and reducing margin stacking.
  3. Lead Safe Harbor equipment procurement to capture long‑term ITC value, and manage deregulated electricity and natural gas sourcing programs across U.S. and international markets.
  4. Build and maintain robust energy market intelligence to strengthen negotiation posture and proactively mitigate regulatory, tariff, and geopolitical risk.
  5. Align cross‑functional stakeholders across Energy Transformation, Finance, Legal, and Facilities—positioning procurement as a strategic partner in capital planning and investment decisions.
