Role Definition Oversees and coordinates the activities of a more complex production line, prepares schedules, resolves issues, and ensures adherence to safety and quality standards.
Experience – Genset Assembly 12 to 18 years
Responsibilities • Creating reports and records of production processes, tools issues performance, and inventory; sharing them with managers and providing suggestions to improve safety, productivity and quality.
Execute daily genset assembly as per plan (models/kVA ratings/variants: open, silent canopies, mobile skid, etc.).
Manage complete build: baseframe & antivibration mount fitment, engine mounting, alternator coupling, alignment (dial/laser), exhaust routing, radiator/hoses, fuel system (day tank, lines, priming), and canopization.
Electrical integration: control panel assembly, AMF/ATS wiring, CT/PT wiring, battery/charging circuits, harness routing, earthing/bonding.
Ensure adherence to SOPs, torque specs, tightening sequences, and control plans.
Coordinate material availability (engines, alternators, baseframes, AVMs, panels, harnesses, silencers, hoses, hardware).
Maintain takt/cycle time, line balancing, and WIP control; minimize changeover losses.
Conduct daily safety walks; ensure 5S at stations, tools shadow boards, and proper cable/hose management.
Allocate operators per skill matrix; conduct on‑job training for mechanical assembly, electrical wiring, torque tools, coupling alignment, and PDI/testing.
Evaluate and certify skills; mentor multi‑skilling across stations.
Adhere to ISO 9001/ISO 14001; manage internal audits.
Support pilot builds, PPAP, and process validation; create/validate SOPs and control plans.
Understanding of electrical power fundamentals (kW/kVA/kVAR, PF, 3‑phase systems, earthing).
• Preparing, maintaining, and updating documentation related to operating procedures and safety and quality standards; ensuring all processes and products meet desired safety and quality standards. • Supervising and directing the daily activities of production lines workers, assigning tasks, ensuring coordination between different teams, ensuring their safety and monitoring their performance. • Training new hires, managing scheduling and work conflicts, monitoring safety, and promoting internal communication to create a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
