Role Definition Oversees and coordinates the activities of a more complex production line, prepares schedules, resolves issues, and ensures adherence to safety and quality standards.
Experience – Genset Test 8 to 15 years
Responsibilities • Creating reports and records of production processes, tools issues performance, and inventory; sharing them with managers and providing suggestions to improve safety, productivity and quality.
To conduct complete performance, electrical, mechanical, safety, and endurance testing of diesel/gas generator sets as per defined test procedures. Ensure each genset meets output, frequency, voltage, noise, and emission norms before dispatch.
Perform test cycles and Conduct protection checks
Check alignment of engine–alternator (for skid/coupled sets).
Measure:
- Voltage, frequency, current, power (kW/kVA/kVAR)
- Phase sequence, unbalance
- Fuel consumption at various loads
- Heat rejection, coolant temp, oil pressure
- Exhaust temperature, back pressure
Evaluate:
- AVR behavior
- Alternator excitation
- Governor stability
- Efficiency calculations
Ensure compliance with CPCB norms (II / CPCB IV+ etc.).
Diagnose issues and provide feedback to assembly, electrical and quality teams.
Prepare and maintain:
- Test reports (for each genset)
- Parameter trends and graphs
- Defect/abnormality logs
- Traceability records (engine, alternator, panel)
- Load test certificates for dispatch
Update ERP/MES for genset status (OK / Rework / Reject).
• Preparing, maintaining, and updating documentation related to operating procedures and safety and quality standards; ensuring all processes and products meet desired safety and quality standards. • Supervising and directing the daily activities of production lines workers, assigning tasks, ensuring coordination between different teams, ensuring their safety and monitoring their performance. • Training new hires, managing scheduling and work conflicts, monitoring safety, and promoting internal communication to create a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
