Manager, Programs Level 2 for the COLUMBIA Operating Unit, supporting production of the COLUMBIA Class submariner for the US Navy. Responsibilities include delivering contractual requirements on cost and schedule, managing the program life cycle, leading cross-functional teams, and managing budgets using EVM.

What you'd actually do

  1. The primary responsibility will be the delivery of all contractual requirements on cost and on schedule, while achieving all technical requirements and creating customer intimacy to support value creation strategies and actions.
  2. Program Managers are responsible for managing all phases of the program life cycle from inception (proposal development) through startup, execution, and completion (contract closeout).
  3. Primary responsibilities are the management of cost, schedule, and technical performance of company programs or subsystems and include, but are not limited to:
  4. Leading and directing cross-functional Integrated Program Teams (IPT) to meet program cost, schedule and technical performance objectives
  5. Development and adherence to budget baselines utilizing Earned Value Management (EVM) or similar cost & schedule control methodologies and tools

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with a minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience, or a Master’s in a STEM discipline with a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting U.S. Government contracts, customers, and/or technology and Research & Development (R&D) programs.
  • Demonstrated experience serving as a Technical Lead, Task Lead, or Project Lead, with responsibility for delivering scope on schedule, managing program budgets or cost tracking, and meeting documented technical and performance requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience leading or coordinating across functional areas including Engineering, Program Management, Supply Chain, Quality, test).
  • US Citizenship required.
  • An active/current U.S Government Secret clearance is required to be considered.

Nice to have

  • Demonstrated experience in program management within a defense or aerospace environment.
  • Broad technical background across multiple engineering disciplines and applications (a Technical Generalist).
  • Demonstrated experience supporting proposal development and/or business development activities.
