Manager for Indirect Taxation in India, responsible for hands-on management and execution of GST, Customs, and EOU-related compliances for a large multinational pharmaceutical organization. The role involves supporting the Taxation Lead in compliance, audits, reconciliations, litigation support, and regulatory interactions, ensuring timely and accurate filings and adherence to evolving tax laws.

What you'd actually do

  1. Prepare, review, and file monthly, quarterly, and annual GST returns, including GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-2B reconciliations, and annual returns.
  2. Handle GST departmental audits, assessments, and inspections, including preparation of data, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
  3. Manage EOU-related compliances, including monitoring of positive Net Foreign Exchange (NFE), bond/LUT compliance, periodic filings, and renewals.
  4. Partner with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Finance teams to assess GST and Customs implications of transactions such as imports, exports, job work, stock transfers, and inter-unit supplies.
  5. Support the Taxation Lead on special projects, reviews, and strategic initiatives related to Indirect Tax.

Skills

Required

  • Chartered Accountant qualification
  • 8-12 years of experience in Indirect Taxation
  • Expertise in GST compliance, audits, and litigation support
  • Knowledge of GST law, rules, reconciliations, and departmental procedures
  • Experience in EOU, Customs, and FTP compliances
  • Experience in handling GST notices, hearings, and appeals
  • Proficiency in SAP (FI-CO, MM, SD)
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Proficiency in GST compliance tools

Nice to have

  • Experience in pharmaceutical or manufacturing sector
  • Experience handling external stakeholders (Auditors, tax Authorities, senior internal stakeholders)
  • Good Understanding of GST & EOU related regulations
  • Experience in Global MNCs
