RTX is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Data Analytics Engineer to lead data-driven improvements in production operations. This role involves developing analytics solutions, transforming manufacturing data into actionable insights, and enabling data-informed decisions. Responsibilities include designing and deploying advanced analytics solutions, analyzing production datasets, developing predictive/diagnostic models for manufacturing flow and efficiency, collaborating with engineering and operations, building dashboards and automation, maintaining data pipelines, and providing technical mentorship. Requires a Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with at least 8 years of experience, proficiency in Python/SQL/R/MATLAB, experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau), knowledge of manufacturing processes, and experience developing predictive models and leading analytics projects.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced analytics solutions for manufacturing operations.
  2. Analyze large, complex production datasets to identify trends, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
  3. Develop predictive and diagnostic models focused on manufacturing flow, equipment performance, and operational efficiency.
  4. Collaborate with manufacturing engineering and operations to translate business challenges into analytical requirements and solutions.
  5. Build dashboards, automation, and self-service tools to support real-time decision-making.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related STEM field.
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools, including Python, SQL, R, MATLAB, or comparable technologies.
  • Experience using data visualization platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or Spotfire.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and factory performance metrics.
  • Experience developing predictive or statistical models.
  • Experience leading analytics projects from concept through deployment.

Nice to have

  • Experience with cloud data environments such as Azure or AWS, or with data engineering frameworks.
  • Experience in electronics, aerospace, or complex manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with Lean methodologies, statistical process control (SPC), or process optimization methods.
  • Experience with MES, ERP, or factory automation systems.
  • Ability to communicate with and influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
