This role focuses on developing and optimizing manufacturing processes for key mechanical components, including CNC machining, surface finishing, glass processing, assembly, and painting. The engineer will work with suppliers, define process parameters, select equipment, and drive engineering issues to resolution, using data analysis and SPC. The role requires a BS/MS/PhD in mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering and 3+ years of experience.

What you'd actually do

  1. Define best-in-class processes to meet all Apple design and operational requirements
  2. Develop and document processes including all parameters, consumables and secondary operation requirements to meet defined specifications
  3. Work with Global Supply Managers to define and establish supply chain requirements using selected equipment and manufacturing suppliers
  4. Provide leadership at manufacturing sites during development and product production ramp, and drive engineering issues to resolution
  5. Use data to drive process decisions, basic data analysis, DOEs, SPC, etc.
