Manufacturing Design Engineer responsible for developing and qualifying key mechanical manufacturing processes, selecting equipment, and driving engineering issues to resolution for Apple's supply chain. This role involves defining processes, working with suppliers, and leading process development in areas like CNC machining, surface finishing, glass processing, assembly, or painting.

What you'd actually do

  1. Define best-in-class processes to meet all Apple design and operational requirements
  2. Develop and document processes including all parameters, consumables and secondary operation requirements to meet defined specifications
  3. Work with Global Supply Managers to define and establish supply chain requirements using selected equipment and manufacturing suppliers
  4. Provide leadership at manufacturing sites during development and product production ramp, and drive engineering issues to resolution
  5. Use data to drive process decisions, basic data analysis, DOEs, SPC, etc.
