Manufacturing Engineer

This role is for an Early-Career Manufacturing Engineer focused on optimizing production facilities for an AI infrastructure company. Responsibilities include plant layout, throughput analysis, metrics reporting, DFMA participation, developing work instructions, tooling assistance, and production support. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field and 0-2 years of experience, with proficiency in CAD and foundational knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.

What you'd actually do

  1. Assist in updating manufacturing floor layouts to improve material flow and ensure safe operator movements.
  2. Help perform time studies and analyze production data to identify bottlenecks; assist in implementing process improvements to balance assembly lines.
  3. Support the tracking of key performance indicators, including First Pass Yield (FPY) and Overall Process Effectiveness (OPE).
  4. Support Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFMA) reviews by documenting feedback from the factory floor to help simplify assembly.
  5. Develop and maintain detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and assembly instructions to ensure consistent quality.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • 0–2 years of experience; internship or senior project experience in a manufacturing or electromechanical environment is highly preferred.
  • Basic proficiency with 2D/3D CAD software (such as SolidWorks or SketchUp) for layout and fixture design.
  • Academic or practical exposure to Lean Manufacturing principles (5S, Kaizen, etc.).
  • Familiarity with metal fabrication, welding, or mechanical assembly processes.
  • A first-principles approach to solving technical problems and a desire to work with data-driven analysis.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for 8 hours or more daily to support floor operations.
  • Participation in a drug and alcohol program is required.

Nice to have

  • Exposure to Plant Simulation software or modeling tools.
  • EIT certification or foundational Six Sigma training (Green Belt).
  • Experience or coursework related to ERP/MRP software for managing BOMs.
  • A strong drive to learn and a proactive attitude toward improving manufacturing processes.
