Manufacturing Engineer role focused on improving safety, quality, efficiency, and delivery in an assembly environment at John Deere Reman. Responsibilities include investigating quality issues, implementing corrective actions, developing work instructions, supporting manufacturing equipment, and managing parts. Requires engineering experience in manufacturing, understanding of manufacturing processes, and problem-solving skills.

What you'd actually do

  1. Actively participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) - improving Safety, Quality, Efficiency, and Delivery through data driven proactive projects.
  2. Investigate quality issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  3. Apply mistake proofing methodology proactively to high-risk processes and recurring quality nonconformance issues.
  4. Develop and modify Operator Method Sheets (visual work instructions) as required.
  5. Support John Deere Assembly Assist Tool (JDAAT) and all manufacturing equipment in areas assigned.

Skills

Required

  • Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, quality, and tooling
  • Experience with engineering tools and systems
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with small strategic projects or larger tactical projects with medium complexity

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of assembly line processes
  • Experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD, and Creo software
  • Experience with MPP work instruction or OMS work instruction development
  • Experience with JDAAT, SAP functions, Windchill and other software tools
  • Experience implementing engineering change
  • Experience with standard data application, time study, and line balancing
