What you'd actually do

  1. Define and deliver next-generation manufacturing processes in support of future-model vehicle programs.
  2. Conduct early stamping process feasibility in an integrated CAD/CAE environment.
  3. Lead the creation of draw die CAD developments and construction release files for new model stampings.
  4. Develop stamping die processes for new model parts, optimized for cost and quality, while meeting timing to achieve company objectives.
  5. Perform simulations of stamping processes for comprehensive formability evaluation.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Material Science or a related field and/or 4-6 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience
  • Expertise in sheet metal forming
  • Strong CAD skills using CATIA V5, 3DX
  • Autoform (or similar) software expertise
  • Basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles
  • In depth knowledge of designing and implementing die processes for stamping sheet metal parts
  • Good troubleshooting skills
  • Microsoft Office experience

  • Teamcenter Engineering expertise
  • Die tryout and/or launch experience
  • Six Sigma certification
