Manufacturing Engineer (experienced, Lead or Senior)

This role is for a Manufacturing Engineer at Boeing, focusing on the development, implementation, and maintenance of manufacturing processes for new products within the Laser and Electro-Optic systems domain. It involves working across the product lifecycle, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring adherence to quality and safety regulations in an aerospace environment.

What you'd actually do

  1. Development, implementation, maintenance of work instructions, travelers and special processes for manufacturing of new product through the life-cycle of the program
  2. Ensure the manufacturing work instructions and special processes follow safety and environmental regulations
  3. Create, submit and implement change orders for manufacturing procedures and processes
  4. Implement design changes that impact new product development builds
  5. Ensure manufacturing procedures meet customer and engineering requirements

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 5+ years of experience working with Supply Chain and Manufacturing
  • 5 + years of experience with one or more of the following within the Manufacturing Operations function (Shop Floor Manufacturing Operations, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Supply Chain Management)
  • Experience with a Manufacturing Engineering or similar function in an aerospace environment.
  • Experience working with AS9100 and/or similar QMS standard

Nice to have

  • 10+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with Product Data Management (PDM) or Bill of Material (BOM) software
  • Six Sigma certification
  • Experience with aerospace (aircraft/space vehicle) supply chain and manufacturing
  • Experience with Computer-aided Design Software (CAD)
  • Experience with Geometric Tolerancing
  • Experience with AS9102 First Article Inspection Processes for Aerospace components
