Boeing is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in El Segundo, CA, to join the STE (Special Test Equipment) Architecture, Engineering and Design team. The role involves bridging manufacturing and electrical systems to ensure producible, testable, and cost-effective electrical assemblies. Responsibilities include developing and optimizing manufacturing plans, conducting producibility analyses, coordinating with suppliers, documenting best practices, and guiding others. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering or science field and 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, quality, or production/industrial engineering are required. Preferred qualifications include more experience, an active security clearance, and experience with parts obsolescence, manufacturing planning tools, and supply chain integration.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develops manufacturing plans and oversees plan optimization
  2. Conducts producibility and variation analyses to ensure that manufacturing process capability matches requirements
  3. Coordinates with supplier management and project managers to ensure that manufacturing requirements, hardware standards, design criteria and schedule performance to build plan, are integrated and accurate
  4. Document and communicate producibility best practices
  5. Provides guidance to others through structured mentoring

Skills

Required

  • Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance
  • US Citizenship
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience in Manufacturing, Quality or Production/Industrial Engineering

Nice to have

  • 4+ years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Active U.S. Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance
  • Experience with parts obsolescence management, assessment & monitoring
  • Experience working with manufacturing planning tools
  • Experience in production systems and integration of the supply chain
  • Experience working with procurement in the acquisition of parts
