Boeing is hiring Manufacturing Engineers for their Test Operations & Engineering team in Berkeley, MO. The role involves provisioning Flight Test Instrumentation hardware, focusing on the fabrication and installation of mechanical and electrical hardware. Responsibilities include reviewing engineering designs, authoring manufacturing plans, sourcing fabrication, and providing shipside support for hardware installation. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field and at least 3 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, MES plan writing, and 3D modeling software.

What you'd actually do

  1. Synthesis of test hardware & instrumentation requirements in support of flight test
  2. Review of design models and drawings, creating/reviewing redlines and coordinating with design to incorporate updates
  3. Authorship of manufacturing plans to facilitate build
  4. Sourcing of fabrication & assembly including work statement creation as needed
  5. Shipside (at the aircraft) support of test hardware installation

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 3+ years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering
  • 3+ years of experience writing MES plans to support detail part fabrication, assembly and installation
  • 3+ years’ experience with 3D modeling software
  • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite

Nice to have

  • 5 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in mechanical or aerospace engineering
  • Experience leading teams and/or leading initiatives
  • Experience with a design tool (CAD package) like Siemens NX, CATIA, etc.
  • Experience working with machine shop processes, prototype development, or fabrication processes
  • Experience with design and development on rapid development or prototyping
