Manufacturing Engineer II role focused on developing and improving manufacturing processes, including creating manufacturing data packages, troubleshooting, dispositioning non-conforming material, driving continuous improvement using Six Sigma, and providing technical support. Requires a STEM degree, manufacturing experience, and the ability to obtain a security clearance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Developing Manufacturing Data Packages (MDPs) including assembly instructions, workflow/routing, labor standards, tool, and fixture designs
  2. Supporting daily manufacturing areas with process troubleshooting, incorporation of engineering changes into the MDP
  3. Dispositioning non-conforming material with root cause and corrective action analysis as required
  4. Driving Continuous Improvement through process improvements to improve cycle time, reduce ergonomic risk to assemblers, automate, reduce costs (both direct and indirect) using Six Sigma principles and data driven decision making
  5. Providing real-time technical support to manufacturers and fabricators; in-house as well as the supply base.

Skills

Required

  • STEM degree
  • minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Access (ATF) clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance

  • Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

  • Current DoD security clearance (secret)
  • Experience with automated tooling, machinery and programming
  • Experience with Refurbishment and Repair requirements and processing of Government Furnished Material (GFM) or Equipment (GFE)
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PPT, Project, Word)
