What you'd actually do

  1. Develop, maintain, and review Manufacturing Data Packages (MDPs) including assembly instructions, workflow/routing, labor standards, tool and fixture designs
  2. Support a manufacturing area as part of cross-functional team by guiding the production team through process troubleshooting and incorporation of engineering changes into the MDP
  3. Disposition non-conforming material with root cause and corrective action analysis as required
  4. Drive Continuous Improvement through process improvements to improve cycle time, reduce ergonomic risk to assemblers, automate, reduce costs (both direct and indirect) using CORE principles and data driven decision making
  5. Provide real-time technical support to manufacturers and fabricators; in-house as well as the supply base.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM)
  • minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
  • U.S. citizenship is required

Nice to have

  • Proficiency with CAD solid modeling tools (preference for CREO/ProE) and/or simulation tools
  • Experience with designing, programming, maintaining, and troubleshooting automated tooling and machinery
  • Experience with military and industry standards
  • Familiarity with standard material handling practices, especially as they pertain to Electrostatic Discharge mitigation requirements
  • Active DoD security clearance
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Powerpoint, Project, Word, etc…)
  • Proven written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills
  • Self-motivated and results oriented individual with an ability to work in a team environment and with minimal direct supervision
  • Demonstrated hands-on mechanical aptitude with the ability to work across disciplines
  • Innovative mindset that drives continuous improvement and keeps pace with advances in technology
  • Excellent organizational skills with fine attention to detail and an ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
