Manufacturing Equipment Technician role focused on maintaining and troubleshooting electromechanical equipment in a semiconductor cleanroom environment. Responsibilities include performing repairs, calibration, preventive maintenance, and collaborating with engineering teams to improve tool performance and yield. Requires strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

What you'd actually do

  1. Performing electrical and/or mechanical troubleshooting to diagnose issues with non-functioning electromechanical equipment used in semiconductor manufacturing.
  2. Dismantling, adjusting, repairing, and assembling equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, operating or repair manuals, rough sketches, or engineering drawings.
  3. Performing setup, calibration, and preventive maintenance on production equipment, with a focus on wet chemistry, plating, and dry high-vacuum toolsets.
  4. Documenting maintenance activities, repairs, parts usage, and findings in accordance with established procedures and systems.
  5. Collaborating with engineering, process, and support teams to improve tool performance, reduce equipment downtime, and enhance process capability and reliability.

Skills

Required

  • Associate degree in a STEM related technical field and 2+ years of experience in equipment maintenance
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM related field
  • High School Diploma/GED or higher plus and 4+ years of hands‑on manufacturing experience in a relevant technical environment
  • High School Diploma/GED or higher plus and 4+ years of military technical experience
  • High School Diploma/GED or higher plus and 2.5+ years of experience in equipment maintenance or a closely related technical field
  • High School Diploma/GED or higher plus and 3+ years Technical/trade certification or 3+ years technical experience
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic computer literacy

Nice to have

  • Troubleshooting, installation, repair, and operation of electronics equipment, wafer fabrication tools, or assembly/test tools.
  • Working with wet chemistry, plating, and/or dry high-vacuum equipment in a manufacturing or RD environment.
  • Use of electrical and/or mechanical measuring devices such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, calipers, and micrometers.
  • Use of torque wrenches and other standard hand tools.
  • Reading and interpreting complex electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Working on and repairing mechanical and/or electrical equipment systems in a manufacturing, semiconductor, or industrial environment.
