This role is for a Senior Manager in Manufacturing Innovation for Johnson & Johnson's Orthopedics business in China. The primary focus is on identifying, designing, and delivering innovation programs within manufacturing value streams, managing projects from inception to completion, and scouting for new manufacturing technologies. The role involves customer engagement, roadmap ownership, and collaboration across functions to optimize site utilization and productivity.

What you'd actually do

  1. Customer Engagement - Work hand-in-glove with site leadership to ensure that their frustrations and opportunities are fully understood. Actively monitor and analyze the manufacturing value streams for opportunities where innovation can make a direct and positive impact to the business.
  2. Manufacturing Solution Design and Delivery - Identify new opportunities and collaborate with other teams to formulate realistic, high-impact innovation programmes underpinned by strong return on investment, seeking alignment with key partners and customers.
  3. Best Value for Money - Develop fully costed and scheduled programmes, secure funding and support for the project from initiation to implementation - from Technology Readiness Level, TRL 1 to TRL 9. Assess internal and external funding opportunities, including government funding and tax incentives, balancing risks and speed of delivery.
  4. Site Roadmap Ownership - Develop and be accountable for the sites' innovation roadmaps that deliver the required Key Performance Indictors, aligning innovations with site drivers so that a pipeline of impactful innovations is delivered to the site, year on year.
  5. Programme Delivery - Accountable for programmes - from inception to completion and fostering positive relationships built on trust and mutual value. Ensure the programmes are maintained to schedule, budget and risk management plans, delivering the programmes’ intended benefits.
