Manufacturing Manager for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, responsible for managing employees, developing business plans, acquiring resources, and leading process improvements in an aerospace fabrication environment. Requires experience in manufacturing, leadership, and cross-functional project management.

What you'd actually do

  1. Manages employees performing activities in multiple manufacturing disciplines
  2. Develops and executes business plans, policies and procedures and develops organizational and technical strategies
  3. Acquires resources, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
  4. Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
  5. Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes

Skills

Required

  • 5+ years of experience working in an aerospace, fabrication, or manufacturing environment
  • 5+ years of experience in a role requiring strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • 5+ years of experience leading or managing projects that involved cross-functional or cross-business unit teams
  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course "Exploring Leadership”

Nice to have

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • 5+ years of experience reporting status to senior and executive leadership
  • 5+ years of experience with continuous process improvement initiatives
  • 5+ years of experience with lean processes (AIW, VSM, BPSM, etc)
  • 5+ years of experience directing and mentoring teams to deliver on safety, quality, and cost goals
