This role is for a Manufacturing Process Technician V (工装夹具管理员) at Caterpillar in Wuxi, Jiangsu. The primary responsibilities include managing, maintaining, and training on production fixtures and tooling, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring production targets for safety, quality, efficiency, and cost control are met. The role requires at least 3 years of experience in machining or tooling, with at least 1 year of team lead or site management experience preferred. Basic office software proficiency and some work English are also required.

What you'd actually do

  1. Organize and communicate daily work of relevant personnel, monitor the usage status of fixtures/tooling in the jurisdiction area, and ensure support for orderly production operations.
  2. Assist engineering and process personnel in analyzing quality or efficiency problems caused by fixtures/tooling, complete root cause analysis, and promote the implementation of improvement measures.
  3. In case of sudden fixture abnormalities or insufficient resources in the production site, cooperate with engineers to complete the evaluation, adjustment, or assembly of temporary fixture solutions to ensure production needs.
  4. Responsible for the collection, return, and ledger management of fixtures, as well as the incoming inspection and inventory management of externally contracted/self-made fixtures, to ensure consistency between accounts and controllable status.
  5. Track the service life and maintenance cycle of fixtures, participate in fixture repair, modification, and simple adjustments to ensure that production accuracy and beat requirements are met.
