Manufacturing Project Engineer role focused on driving continuous improvement in safety, quality, velocity, and cost-effectiveness for drivetrain components. Responsibilities include managing projects for new capital and products, leading teams for safety improvements, and interfacing with suppliers and internal partners. Requires troubleshooting technical challenges, analyzing processes, supporting new introductions, and executing the capital process.

What you'd actually do

  1. Troubleshoot technical challenges related to the manufacturing of drivetrain components ranging from dimensional nonconformances to metallurgical issues
  2. Provide guidance to manufacturing and operators to develop high quality components and safe processes.
  3. Analyze current processes and propose future production methods or capital solutions to achieve Enterprise Capacity Requirements (ECR) planning for drivetrain components through the heat treatment value stream
  4. Support New Product Introduction (NPI), New Supplier Introduction (NSI), and New Technology Introduction (NTI) related to the process of manufacturing drivetrain components
  5. Execute the capital process (Scope of Work / RFQ / RFI / Issue POs / supplier runoff / install equipment / validate process) including driving changes / improvements as needed to deliver the safest solution for our business that achieves our customer’s needs.

  • Experience developing, executing, or supporting component manufacturing APQP activities including Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Control Plans, In-Process Validation (IPV), traceability, process monitoring, and / or error-proofing (poka-yoke)
