Manufacturing Systems Engineering Technician

This role provides hands-on technical support for manufacturing systems and operational technology, including printers, barcode scanners, workstations, and IoT devices. Responsibilities include troubleshooting hardware, software, application, and network issues impacting production, supporting data-related tasks, and basic query troubleshooting (SQL, Splunk; Python is a plus).

What you'd actually do

  1. Provide frontline and escalated support for manufacturing systems and operational technology, including Zebra printers (ZPL configuration and troubleshooting), barcode scanners, production-floor workstations and displays, shop-floor networking, and connected IoT devices.
  2. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, software, application, and network issues impacting production, with urgency and precision to minimize downtime.
  3. Act as a primary responder for manufacturing system incidents and coordinate cross-functional resolution efforts when necessary.
  4. Support data-related tasks and production workflows, including basic query troubleshooting (SQL, Splunk; Python is a plus).

Skills

Required

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years of experience in technical support, IT/OT, or a similar role
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware, software, and networking issues
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong problem-solving mindset
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively

Nice to have

  • Experience with manufacturing systems (MES, PLCs, SCADA)
  • Experience with industrial label printers (Zebra, ZPL, BarTender, etc.)
  • Experience supporting production environments or shop-floor systems
