Manufacturing Technician I for the OTTAVA Surgical Robotic Platform, responsible for electro-mechanical assembly of robotic sub-systems and components, supporting production schedules, and maintaining compliance with medical device regulations.

What you'd actually do

  1. Assemble robotic sub-systems (e.g., joints, control modules, cable harnesses) following detailed work instructions, drawings, and schematics.
  2. Operate on a production line to meet daily build schedules while maintaining accurate documentation and device history records per ISO 13485 and FDA QSR requirements.
  3. Read and interpret mechanical drawings and assembly procedures to build and verify assemblies.
  4. Perform functional and mechanical checks using calibrated tools and test fixtures.
  5. Follow clean manufacturing, ESD, and contamination-control practices appropriate for medical devices.

Skills

Required

  • High School diploma or equivalent; Vocational Certificate or Technical training preferred.
  • 0–2 years of experience in manufacturing or assembly of medical devices or electromechanical equipment.
  • Familiarity with Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and regulated environments.
  • Basic proficiency with assembly tools (e.g., torque wrenches, screwdrivers, calipers, tweezers).
  • Ability to work overtime and flexible shifts (including weekends) as business needs require.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Learning Management Systems, MES, SAP, or similar systems
  • Exposure to robotics or surgical device assembly.
