Manufacturing Technology Engineer (mte), Electromechanical

Joby Aviation Joby Aviation · Robotics · San Carlos, CA · Supply Chain

Develops tooling, equipment, and layouts for manufacturing processes, including planning simulations and digital twins for production environments. Focuses on electromechanical assemblies in electronics manufacturing, aiming for efficient and rapid production startup. Requires experience in process development, supplier management, DFM, and implementing new manufacturing technologies.

What you'd actually do

  1. Plan, organize, direct, and conduct process development activities including Industrialization-related activities within the supply chain team.
  2. Develop, Manage, Audit, Improve, and Correct supplier planning and execution of component manufacturing and assembly techniques from the advanced development phase to mass production qualification.
  3. Facilitate communication and clarification of technical requirements between Suppliers and Joby Supply Chain, Quality, and Design teams.
  4. Identify Critical to Quality and drive Supplier for robust process design.
  5. Provide leadership for New Product Introduction (NPI) at suppliers in developing exceptionally robust tools, processes and procedures to promote efficient and seamless production of high-quality products.
