Manufacturing Test Engineer

Anduril Anduril · Defense · Quincy, MA · Manufacturing : Undersea Reconnaissance & Strike - Production : Manufacturing Engineering

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company developing autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs). This Manufacturing Test Engineer role focuses on developing and implementing automated test procedures for components and systems to ensure quality and reliability in production operations. Responsibilities include building test capabilities, developing test ecosystems, performing root cause analysis, designing automated testing equipment, collaborating with design teams, and generating test logs and instructions. Requires a degree in EE/CE or equivalent, 3+ years of test design experience in manufacturing, experience with hardware testing and automated test systems (LabVIEW, Test Stand), and proficiency in Python/Matlab. Experience in sub-sea robotics is preferred. The role requires eligibility for a U.S. Secret clearance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Build a broad range of test capabilities across the manufacturing value stream - from system level checkouts and acceptance testing to key component level in process validation
  2. Develop, execute, and manage test eco-system to de-risk hardware and ensure product meets target reliability levels and ultimate design intent
  3. Perform hands-on and data-driven root cause analysis of electromechanical subsystems utilizing structured problem solving methodologies
  4. Design and implement semi-automated testing equipment/protocols for subsystem characterization and reliability/environmental testing
  5. Collaborate with the design/systems team throughout product development cycles to perform risk assessments, maintain ownership of test deployment activities in production, oversee technician training, burn down bug fixes/improvements as needed
