This role is for a Manufacturing Test Specialist at Anduril, a defense technology company. The primary responsibilities involve the assembly, testing, calibration, and maintenance of optical, mechanical, and electrical components for AR/VR products. The role requires proficiency in reading technical documentation, using various tools, and performing root cause analysis on manufacturing issues. It is not an AI development role but supports the manufacturing of products that incorporate AI and other advanced technologies.

What you'd actually do

  1. Follow detailed blueprints and schematics to assemble EagleEye AR headset optical components and displays.
  2. Use hand and power tools for building, calibrating, and maintaining equipment.
  3. Interpret equipment test results and support the validation of test processes in collaboration with integrators.
  4. Draft and provide feedback on test procedures while performing root cause analysis on manufacturing issues.
  5. Maintain detailed records of assembly processes, calibration services, and test results.

Skills

Required

  • Manufacturing Experience: 4+ years in a manufacturing setting (aerospace, electronics, or medical industry) performing mechanical and electrical assemblies.
  • Electromechanical Skills: Proven experience in electromechanical assembly and testing, including PCBA/CCA handling and assembly.
  • Tool Proficiency: Skilled with hand and power tools such as pliers, wrenches, screwdrivers, depth micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, pressure gauges, multimeters, and specialized test equipment.
  • Assembly & Fastening: Expertise in torquing and fastening processes, harness installations, and fixture installation.
  • Technical Documentation: Ability to read wiring diagrams, follow detailed assembly instructions, load software, and perform software checks.
  • Adaptability & Communication: Capable of rapidly changing roles in a fast-paced environment while effectively communicating with engineering and production teams.
  • Travel Requirement: Must be willing to travel up to 50% for the first year, with travel requirements subject to change based on program needs.
  • Security Requirements: Must be a U.S. Person due to access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities.

  • Industry Background: Experience in manufacturing, or hardware deployment environments.
  • High-Growth Tech Exposure: Previous experience working with high-growth tech companies
  • Specialized Product Experience: Prior involvement in developing helmet products or similar head-worn safety gear.
  • Near-Eye Systems & Sigma Design: Demonstrated experience with near-eye-to-face system architectures and a strong understanding of Sigma design principles.
