This role is for a Marketing Operations, Technology & Tools Lead at OpenAI. The primary focus is on owning and evolving the marketing team's tools, technology, data flows, and operating model, with an emphasis on AI-enabled workflows. The role involves designing and overseeing the tech stack, ensuring security and governance, and partnering with IT, Privacy, and Security. While the role leverages AI tools and aims to deploy AI solutions for marketing workflows, the core craft is marketing operations and technology management, not direct AI/ML model development or research.

What you'd actually do

  1. Be the go-to expert who designs and oversees our full tech stack and standards across our planning, project management, resource management, production and DAM tools (internal tools and external SaaS tools).
  2. Ensure our tech stack is built for mid-term/long-term growth from the beginning (tools are connected, taxonomy is consistent, vendor selection is intentional and custom tools are built to last).
  3. Have an AI-first mindset and have successfully deployed AI based solutions at scale for marketing workflows including production, intake, reporting, resource management, asset management, etc.
  4. Develops our team standards for tech security and governance (in accordance with OAI requirements, SOX compliance, etc.)
  5. Key partner to our IT, Privacy and Security XFNs to build trust and allow Marketing to function how it needs to.

Skills

Required

  • Marketing Technology / Marketing Operations / Growth Ops experience
  • Owning or administering CRM, marketing automation, CDP/audience activation, analytics/tagging, experimentation, data warehouse integrations
  • Data concepts (identifiers, events, schemas, segmentation)
  • Integrations (APIs, webhooks, ETL/reverse ETL)
  • Measurement fundamentals (UTMs, attribution constraints, experimentation basics)
  • Lead cross-functional programs

Nice to have

  • Experience in a public-company or public-company-grade controls environment (SOX-ish rigor, audit trails, vendor risk management)
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity risk governance concepts
  • Experience with responsible AI enablement and risk management
