Marketplace New Business Development Manager, Alliances - Lead Generation Marketing

This role focuses on lead generation marketing for Target's Marketplace (Target+), aiming to attract and convert new selling partners. Responsibilities include executing industry event and marketing initiatives, managing website strategy, developing partner case studies, and driving leads through targeted campaigns. It requires experience in digital sales, business development, or merchandising, with a preference for experience in corporate contracting and digital marketplaces.

What you'd actually do

  1. Owning the execution of industry events strategy.
  2. Owning execution of external marketing campaigns.
  3. Managing Target Plus website strategy and content enhancements.
  4. Owning Development of Marketplace Partner Case Studies and Success Stories.
  5. Delivering high-quality leads from high-potential partners via 1:Many and 1:1 targeted email campaigns, webinars and educational events.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in digital sales, business development, or merchandising.
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills, able to manage discussions with both internal teams and external partners.
  • Ability to analyze and respond to market data, trends, and guest insights to support sourcing strategies.
  • Experience in a project management or operational excellence roles, with a demonstrated ability to manage priorities and execute strategies effectively

Nice to have

  • Experience with corporate contracting and knowledge of basic legal, operational, and financial terms preferred.
  • Experience building and managing a wide pipeline of external prospective vendors / business partners preferred.
  • Familiarity with digital marketplaces and an understanding of the DTC landscape preferred.
