This role is for a Material Control Supervisor at Ford, responsible for leading a warehouse team in receiving, packaging, replenishment, picking, and shipping. The focus is on operational excellence, safety, team leadership, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making within a manufacturing and supply chain context. It does not involve AI/ML development.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead an hourly unionized team responsible for Receiving, Packaging, Replenishment, Picking, and Shipping. Deliver objectives related to Cost, Quality, Safety, Efficiency, Absenteeism.
  2. Safety First: Act as a champion of workplace safety, proactively enforcing regulations and fostering a culture of vigilance
  3. Driving Operational Excellence: Lead and direct a team of employees across various warehouse functions, including Receiving, Packaging, Replenishment, Picking, and Shipping, ensuring the team consistently ships high-quality products and meets or exceeds production targets. You will take ownership of team performance, addressing shortcomings proactively and celebrating successes.
  4. Strategic Focus & Problem Solving: Prioritize critical tasks and effectively allocate human resources to maximize efficiency. You will apply for a "Bias for Action," promptly and decisively addressing safety and quality issues to prevent larger problems. This includes identifying and analyzing problems, developing and implementing effective solutions, making timely and well-informed decisions, and adapting to changing circumstances.

Skills

Required

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1+ years of experience in supervisory roles, manufacturing, military or other relevant experience
  • Experience with MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
  • Ability to work rotating shifts / hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays

Nice to have

  • Bachelor’s degree or Military Leadership
  • Experience with SAP/ERP/WMS systems
  • Experience with Lean / Six Sigma methodology and / or Military Decision-Making Process (MDMP) Experience
