This role focuses on optimizing internal logistics and material flow within a manufacturing environment, applying Lean Manufacturing principles to design layouts, manage inventory, and select material handling equipment. It involves data analysis, process optimization, and cross-functional collaboration to improve efficiency and reduce lead times.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop and maintain detailed facility layouts using AutoCAD to optimize storage density, picking paths, and material delivery routes.
  2. Create and manage the "Plan for Every Part" (PFEP) database, defining specific storage locations, container quantities, and replenishment methods for thousands of SKUs.
  3. Design and deploy Lean logistics tools, including Kanban systems, Just-in-Time (JIT) delivery, and sequenced parts feeding.
  4. Identify, justify, and procure material handling equipment such as racking systems, tuggers, forklifts, and Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs).
  5. Conduct time studies and value stream mapping to identify inefficiencies in material handling and implement corrective actions.
