Material Handler I

Material Handler - Warehouse role responsible for safely loading, unloading, and moving materials within or near the site, stocking and inventorying deliveries, assisting with new orders and cycle counts, and pulling and picking parts for service operations. Requires 3-6 months of related experience, forklift operation, and ability to become forklift certified and operate a hand-held scanner within 30 days. Basic understanding of warehouse distribution industry and experience with ERP/WMS systems are preferred.

What you'd actually do

  1. Unload, stock and inventory all deliveries
  2. Assist with new orders and cycle counts
  3. Read and understand standard work and risk assessments
  4. Counts, weighs, secures, tags, palettize and stacks materials and maintains accurate records of material movement
  5. Assist service operations with pulling and picking parts

Skills

Required

  • Minimum of three to six months related experience and/or training
  • Prior experience operating a forklift
  • Must be able to become forklift certified within 30 days
  • Must be able to effectively operate hand-held scanner (inventory transaction device) within 30 days
  • Ability to use identification tools (engraver, metal stamps, paint pen) to mark product
  • Ability to read and interpret dimensional drawings
  • Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear
  • Required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Must be able to wear protective footwear and other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by the department

Nice to have

  • Basic understanding of the warehouse distribution industry
  • Experience with Site line ERP systems or warehouse management systems is preferred
