Manage a team of Material Process Engineers focused on Parts, Materials and Processes (PM&P), specifically in corrosion management, prevention, and service life estimation for defense systems. The role involves performance feedback, training, mentoring, workforce planning, employee development, and supporting proposal work and technical reviews. The candidate will also have technical responsibilities in corrosion engineering, including developing and reviewing corrosion prevention plans, performing galvanic assessments, and collaborating with design and systems engineers.

What you'd actually do

  1. Provide performance feedback, training, mentoring and coaching to your employees.
  2. Support workforce planning and maintain sufficient depth and breadth of skillsets within your teams core discipline to meet program needs.
  3. Responsible for employee performance reviews and supporting employee career development.
  4. Responsible to perform full spectrum of corrosion management tasks on assigned system and sub-systems to ensure streamlined risk identification, risk mitigation, and tracking of corrosion issues during the design of weapon systems and equipment under an overarching Systems Engineering framework.
  5. Develop/maintain/review & approve Corrosion Prevention and Control Plans(CPCPs), PPSLs, PAMPLs of all design teams and their major sub suppliers and perform issue tracking and risk mitigation for all corrosion issues.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline
  • 8 years of experience in Parts, Materials and Processes (PM&P) engineering
  • Experience in corrosion management, prevention, and control
  • Experience with service life estimation and galvanic assessments
  • Experience with Systems Engineering disciplines and processes
  • Experience managing or leading technical teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
  • Ability to obtain and sustain a Secret Security Clearance
