Material Specialist - 2nd Shift

This role is for a Material Specialist in Caterpillar's Product Support and Logistics Division. Responsibilities include safely performing material handling and warehousing functions such as receiving, storing, moving, packing, and shipping parts and supplies, utilizing equipment like order pickers and forklifts, and operating handheld scanners for inventory management. The role requires a strong safety mindset, team collaboration, time management, adaptability, and thoroughness in performing quality checks and following instructions. Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 pounds, walking significant distances, and working at heights.

What you'd actually do

  1. Safely perform the material handling and warehousing functions required in the receiving, processing, storing, moving, packing, and shipping of parts, materials, equipment, and supplies.
  2. Utilizing order pickers, reach trucks, and sit-down forklifts. Keep in mind, not all available positions operate equipment.
  3. Operate handheld scanner to access and update information for receiving, counting and order processing.
  4. Perform housekeeping functions as required and reports defects and need for repairs.
  5. Other duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time to time.

  • Experience: Demonstrated longevity of at least one year in previous employment
  • Agility: Must be able to repeatedly lift and carry up to 50 pounds individually, walk approximately 10 to 12 miles per day, sit, stand, squat, and bend over repetitively and consistently, throughout your shift with or without reasonable accommodation. Must be comfortable working on equipment at heights up to 30 feet in the air.
