Materials Management and Transportation Manager

This role manages a team responsible for materials management, transportation, WIP parts control, tool control, and 3PL management within Boeing Commercial Airplanes. It involves data analysis, problem resolution, strategic planning, and project execution, with a focus on supplier KPI performance and inventory management.

What you'd actually do

  1. Manages and integrates employee activities across more than one area in materials management and fulfillment
  2. Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals
  3. Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
  4. Develop and maintain relationships, and partnerships, with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
  5. Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes

Skills

Required

  • at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course 'Exploring Leadership'
  • 3+ years of experience working in a manufacturing or manufacturing support environment
  • 3+ years of experience in supply chain or materials management/fulfillment
  • Experience with inventory / ERP systems
  • Willingness and ability to work any shift assigned based on business needs

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • 3+ years of experience in strategic planning, scheduling and project execution
  • 3+ years of experience leading a team
  • Experience with the following (or similar industry) systems: CribMaster, Velocity, Kit Integration and Tracking System (KITS), E-Enabled Tracking and Communication (eTRAC), and Order Manager (GXO Warehouse Management System)
  • Experience with safety and quality processes
  • Self-motivated, works well independently
