Materials Management and Transportation Manager

Boeing is seeking a Materials Management and Transportation Manager for their 737 Supply Chain Fulfillment Final Assembly team in Renton, Washington. The role involves leading a team, developing and executing integrated organizational plans, and improving systems, policies, and processes within the supply chain. The manager will partner with enterprise leaders, manage employees' activities across materials management and transportation, acquire resources, provide technical management of suppliers, and lead process improvements. The position requires a strong understanding of supply chain management goals and customer expectations, with the ability to translate strategic goals into tactical actions. A mandatory assessment is part of the selection process.

What you'd actually do

  1. Manages and integrates employees’ activities across more than one area in materials management and transportation
  2. Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals
  3. Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
  4. Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
  5. Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes

Skills

Required

  • 5+ years of experience in materials management and/or supply chain management
  • 3+ years of experience advising and influencing others to meet quality and safety requirements
  • 3+ years of experience working with senior leaders/executives to communicate strategic plans and objectives
  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership.”
  • Must be willing and able to work any shift

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher)
  • 3+ years of experience demonstrating exceptional business, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • 3+ years of experience in Microsoft Office products
  • 3+ years of experience with safety and quality processes
  • 3+ years of experience working in a warehouse environment
  • 3+ years of experience in Aerospace or manufacturing experience
  • Self-motivated, works well independently
