Supervises and coordinates materials handling operations, including inventory management, receiving, decontamination, shipping, and movement of capital equipment and materials within a healthcare setting. Focuses on leadership, operational workflow, compliance with quality and safety standards, and team development.

What you'd actually do

  1. Supervising and providing day-to-day leadership to Support Technicians, including coaching, training, performance management, and talent development.
  2. Coordinating daily materials handling activities, including receiving, decontamination, shipping, and internal movement of spare parts and medical devices.
  3. Performs hands-on materials handling responsibilities as needed to support operational continuity, accounting for up to 20% of the role.
  4. Managing workflow, productivity, and operational decision-making to ensure timely, accurate, and consistent inventory management of capital pools and spare parts.
  5. Ensuring accurate updates to service and inventory systems to support asset tracking and reporting.

Skills

Required

  • 5+ years of experience related to the service of medical devices
  • 1-3 years of leading individual contributors with strong coaching and mentoring skills
  • Experience working in regulated or safety‑critical environments (e.g., manufacturing, aerospace, medical devices, transportation, or distribution centers)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of warehouse or materials handling practices and procedures
  • Knowledge of specific business practices and software and software applications (e.g. Microsoft Office)
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills

Nice to have

  • Experience in Medical Devices, manufacturing, supply chain, material handling, or logistics is preferred
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma, Process Improvement methodologies, or Lean Manufacturing Principals is preferred
  • Lean or Six Sigma Green Belt, APICS / ASCM certifications, etc. are preferred
