Seeking a reliable Automotive Technician to join UPS's fleet maintenance team. The role involves maintaining delivery vehicles, heavy-duty tractors, and trailers, including their diesel and gasoline propulsion systems. Responsibilities include troubleshooting and maintaining various systems like hydraulic brakes, air brakes, electrical systems, and engine controls. The position requires willingness to work various shifts and possession of necessary hand tools.

What you'd actually do

  1. Meets D.O.T requirements required by job assignment
  2. Bends, stoops, squats, kneels, crouches, crawls, climbs ladders and stairs, stands, walks, and turns/pivots frequently throughout duration of workday
  3. Sits infrequently, as required, throughout duration of workday
  4. Exercises simple hand grasping, power hand grasping, fine hand manipulation, and reaching from foot level to above shoulder level as necessary to complete assigned tasks
  5. Operates standard and manual transmission
  6. Operates power and pneumatic tools

Skills

Required

  • Current documented automotive mechanical experience
  • Experience using diagnostic equipment, scan tools and personal computer
  • Must have an active driver’s license issued by the state
  • Must be willing to work 2nd or 3rd shifts, including Monday through Friday, Sunday through Thursday as well as Tuesday through Saturday schedules, depending on the location’s need.
  • Must possess the required hand tools required to perform the applicable job assignment.

Nice to have

  • Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
